Who is this qualification for?

The purpose of this qualification is to enable individuals to enhance their knowledge and skills in basic life support, enabling them to fulfill their responsibilities in the workplace or any other setting. It also serves as a stepping stone towards further first aid training. This qualification is particularly beneficial for workplace first-aiders who have access to a defibrillator.

Upon achieving this qualification, learners will understand the vital role of cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED) in the chain of survival. The topics covered in this course are considered essential by Skills for Health to ensure the safe, prompt, and effective administration of CPR and AED. By obtaining this qualification, learners will be proficient in using an AED device safely and effectively.

As per industry recommendations, it is advisable for learners to undergo this course again after three years to stay up to date with the latest guidelines and practices.
