Who is this qualification for?

The purpose of the qualification is to develop the knowledge and skills required to work with food in health and social care, early years and childcare settings. Food safety requirements are included as well as developing skills in contributing to and/or promoting nutrition and hydration to enable learners to support individuals to eat and drink. It is suitable for learners who are employed in the sector who may be preparing for a new role or are working in a role that involves handling food safely and supporting an individual with nutrition and hydration needs. The qualification includes assessment in the workplace therefore learners must either be employed in a suitable job role, on a work placement or volunteering.
