Who is this qualification for?

This qualification is aimed at those who are already in employment within the care sector or those who are seeking employment in the sector. This qualification aims to equip learners with the knowledge and understanding of oral hygiene for individuals in a care setting. This qualification also aims to meet a training gap within the care sector identified by Care Quality Commission. It was identified that there was a lack of knowledge and understanding of oral hygiene and care within care settings, this qualifications covers areas which were identified such as basic oral health care, how to assess the mouth and the importance of person centred approaches.
